The way people stand directly in front of the elevator doors when they're waiting to get on

Was at the mall food court elevator on 3rd street yesterday and this guy basically chest-bumped me as the doors opened because he was parked right in front of them, like buddy you gotta let people off first, has anyone else noticed this getting worse?

Man, I watched some lady at the grocery store yesterday nearly get her heel busted by the automatic door because she stood right in its path. Same energy, people just forget doors gotta move.

@grantw32 were they just totally zoned out, or did it seem like they thought the door would magically not open?

Oh man, that's exactly it. It's like people forget doors are mechanical things with sensors and motors, not some magic portal that reads their mind. They probably think the door "sees" them and will just wait patiently until they move, instead of realizing the door has a timer and will close right on their heels if they dawdle.
