Tried a silent keyboard in my home office and now I can't stop noticing the clicking
I picked up a Logitech silent keyboard last month to stop annoying my wife during late night work, but now I hear every single keystroke she makes from across the room. It turns out the quiet ones just make the loud ones sound ten times louder somehow. Has anyone else dealt with this weird sensitivity after switching?

Man it's like when you buy a quiet car and suddenly you can hear every rattle and hum that was there the whole time. I went through this exact thing with headphones actually. Got some noise canceling ones and now I can't unhear the fridge compressor kick on or the neighbor's dog barking. Makes you realize how much background noise our brains just filter out normally. Almost feels like the quiet stuff breaks your ears somehow and you start noticing everything you didn't want to notice.

Ngl you nailed it with that quiet car comparison, I had the same thing happen with a new fridge hum.

Makes you wonder how much of our daily lives is just us tuning things out, doesn't it, @michael_coleman10? It's funny how becoming aware of one sound leads you down a rabbit hole of noticing all the other little noises you never knew were there. Seems like our brains have a pretty good filter system until we mess with it.
