Fermenting cabbage helped my stomach, but now I get gassy

I tried making sauerkraut to fix my digestion issues after meals. After a month, my belly feels calmer overall. But lately, eating it makes me bloated and uncomfortable. Is this normal, or should I change how long I let it sit?
