Totally get that. Had a friend correct me for calling my sourdough starter a "sponge" once. She said that's only for cake and sent me a link to a baker's forum. The gatekeeping in hobby circles is WILD sometimes.

Wait, is that actually a thing people argue about? I got into a whole thing with a friend once because I called the starter a "mother" and she said it's only called that for vinegar. Ended up down a weird internet hole about fermentation terms for like an hour.
