Spent a whole weekend trying to get a sourdough starter going, only to realize my kitchen was too cold (like 62 degrees).

My first starter took almost two weeks in a chilly apartment. I ended up putting it on top of the fridge where the motor gives off a little heat.

That top of the fridge trick saved my starter too. I was about to give up before I tried it.

That "top of the fridge" trick is a game changer. I always tried to keep mine in a perfect spot on the counter, but a little extra warmth really does speed things up. Your post just fixed my next starter.
