Bought a cheap knockoff pouring shank online and it cracked on the third pour

Lost a full 50-pound batch of aluminum and had to shut down the line for two hours to clean out the crucible. The thing was only $40 from some no-name site, but the repair and scrap cost me over $300. It looked fine at a glance, but the steel was way too brittle. Anyone know a solid supplier for small shop gear that won't fail like that?

Honestly, I used to think the cheap stuff was fine for small jobs. But losing a whole batch like that? Yeah, that changed my mind real quick.

Had a cheap one last years for me. It's not always about the price. Sometimes you just get a bad piece of metal or it gets used way too hard. My good stuff has broken too.
