Found out a stuck core box in our Tacoma shop will pop right out if you give it a quick tap with a dead-blow hammer after heating the outside with a propane torch for about 30 seconds.
Has anyone else found a weird but effective trick for stubborn patterns?

Oh I read a safety guide that backed up what @joel_martinez said, you just need the right setup.
