Hot take: Pushing out a batch with a known sand mix flaw felt off

We had a slight moisture issue in the molding sand but the schedule was tight. Letting it slide saved hours, but I keep thinking about potential weak spots in the castings.

Man that's a tough spot to be in lol. The schedule pressure is so real, but that little voice in your head about the weak spots is the worst. Been there with a rushed heat treat once, and the worry just eats at you. Saving hours now never feels worth the stress later.

Ah, the classic "schedule over quality" move. Nothing like building in a fun little mystery for the customer, where every casting is a surprise grab bag. Sure, you saved hours now, but you get to spend those hours later when the parts fail. Really forward-thinking, making next quarter's problem today's solution.

In my first design role, I approved a batch without full testing to hit a date. Spent the next month dealing with all the return requests. My boss still uses me as the "what not to do" example.
