Showerthought: a broken fan belt on a Tuesday saved my pour
Last Tuesday, our big industrial fan for the core room belt snapped right before a big bronze pour. We had to wait two hours for a new one, which gave the mold extra time to cool down in the Florida humidity. When we finally poured, the metal filled the cavity perfectly, with zero blowouts or cold shuts. That extra wait fixed a problem we didn't even know we had. Anyone else ever have a delay turn out to be a secret blessing for a cast?

Read about a similar thing with a woodworker's glue-up. A power outage forced him to leave clamps on overnight instead of the planned few hours. The extra pressure made the joint rock solid, way stronger than his usual rush job. Sometimes the universe forces a better schedule on you.

Totally get what you're saying, @mila_murphy21, but gotta point out it's not the extra pressure that did it. Clamps don't add more squeeze over time, they just hold. The real win was the extra cure time for the glue. That overnight set let it fully harden. Most wood glue needs like 24 hours to reach full strength, not just a couple. Rushing to take clamps off early is a super common mistake.

Wait, @mila_murphy21, a power outage helped?
