Spent $80 on a new safety helmet with built-in hearing protection

I always used the cheap foam earplugs from the break room, but after three years my hearing test showed a slight dip in my left ear. My foreman convinced me to try the 3M Peltor helmet that has the earmuffs built in, and it's made a huge difference. Anyone else switched to a better setup for hearing protection?

Nah, those cheap foam plugs actually work fine if you roll em up right and shove em in deep enough.

Right, and then try getting em out when your hands are all sweaty, basically a wrestling match with your own ear canal. I've been there, @matthew166, and ended up having to ask my buddy to use tweezers once, real classy moment. Not exactly the vibe you want at a concert, just standing there with your head tilted hoping a foam plug doesn't become a permanent resident.

I heard those things can get stuck if you don't roll them tight enough.
