I switched from a foam brush to a good bristle brush for shellac

The foam one left a ton of bubbles in the finish that I had to sand out. The $18 Purdy bristle brush laid it down smooth on the first coat. What's your go-to brush for French polishing?

Honestly, foam brushes get a bad rap for no reason sometimes. The trick is to use a really thin cut of shellac and not overwork it. I've gotten glassy finishes with the cheap foam ones by just loading it right and laying it off quickly. A bad brush can definitely cause bubbles, but a good technique matters more than the tool for me.

Yeah @anthony129, foam brushes are a total trap for that.
