Found a weird fix for a repeating number glitch in my apartment
My digital clock in Phoenix kept showing 3:33 AM every night for a solid month, no matter what I did. I finally unplugged it, took the battery out for a full 24 hours, and plugged it into a different outlet across the room, and it just stopped. Has anyone else had a repeating time pattern that broke after a simple hardware reset?

My old microwave in the kitchen used to get stuck on 0:00 all the time. It felt spooky until I realized the cheap control board was just failing. These things are basically tiny, dumb computers that glitch. A full power cycle fixes most of them because it wipes the faulty temporary memory. It's less about haunted outlets and more about cheap electronics being weird.

My buddy's fridge did that "dumb computer" thing @val_williams mentioned, just started beeping at 3 AM.

Oh man, that's a classic power issue! I had a coffee maker that would flash 12:00 constantly. Turns out the outlet itself had a weird surge. Moving it fixed it, just like you did. Sometimes the wall power is dirty or the circuit is overloaded. A full reset and a new outlet clears the memory. I keep a cheap outlet tester now to check for wiring problems.
