I finally made it to that cliffside cafe and time skipped

On a trip to the coast, I stopped at a cafe perched on the cliffs. I swear I only sat for a minute, but when I checked my phone, two hours had passed. The staff said I'd been there the whole time, just staring out. Nothing on my phone or watch explained the jump. Has a place ever made you lose time like that?

Totally get that feeling. Places with a big view can swallow hours without you noticing. I had that happen at a quiet park bench last fall, just watching leaves fall. My brain checked out and my phone said I was there for three hours. It's like your mind hits pause but the world keeps going. Was the coffee at least good?

Yeah that "mind hits pause" thing is exactly it. I used to think zoning out like that was a waste of time, like I should always be doing something. But hearing you describe it that way makes it sound actually peaceful, not lazy. It's weird how a change of view can change your mind. Was your park bench one of those old wooden ones?

It's wild how we're taught that rest is lazy.
