Rant: Figured out why my keys kept ending up in weird places
I used to think I was just losing my mind when my keys weren't on the hook. After it happened a few days in a row, I got serious about finding out. I propped up my old phone to record the area where I leave them. The video showed my kitten swatting them onto the floor when I turned my back. I had no idea she played like that because she's usually napping. This proof made me see that what felt like a matrix glitch was just pet mischief. Now I keep my keys in a locked cabinet, and they stay put. I changed my mind about blaming my memory or thinking reality was broken.

Ever try putting something heavy on top of the keys? My cat did the same thing, so I started leaving them under a decorative stone on the entry table. He couldn't move that, and I still do it now.

Tried that, didn't work for me.

Yeah @val518, sometimes you need a different kind of weight. I used a heavy glass paperweight for a while, the smooth kind without sharp edges. It was small enough to not be in the way but my dog definitely couldn't knock it off the table to get to my stuff.
