After trial and error, I nailed the tension comb technique for precise cuts.

It completely changed how I approach layered styles.

Doubt you perfected the tension comb so quickly. That technique is notoriously difficult for layered styles. I'm genuinely surprised it worked for precise cuts.

The precise cuts part is what gets me. Layered styles usually fray with tension combs, but getting clean lines requires adjusting the angle mid-stroke. I had to recalibrate my wrist motion three times before it clicked. Still can't believe it held up for detailed work.

How did you keep the tension consistent when shifting angles during the stroke? That wrist recalibration thing is so real, it’s like your muscles finally learn to listen after a few failed attempts. @wyattmiller isn’t wrong about the difficulty, but your experience hints that maybe the tension comb just requires a more intuitive, less rigid approach. I’ve noticed that once the motion clicks, the precision comes easier, almost like your hand anticipates the layers. Still, it’s fascinating how technique can adapt under pressure, literally.
