Why does nobody talk about how long some color processes actually take?

Had a client come in for a vivid purple dye job last week. The pre-lightening alone took over two hours to get to the right level, and the color deposit needed extra time to set. We ended up pushing back my next appointment cuz it ran so long. Now I block out way more time for any fantasy color requests.

Do you warn clients about the time first?

@phoenixb34, warning first might make them clock-watch.

Always set a soft timer ten minutes before the hour ends. Barbarah19 is right, a warning can totally make clients fixate on the clock. I just use it as my own reminder to wrap things up.
