DAE notice crazy price jumps at their local stores?
I was at my neighborhood grocery yesterday and the bill was way higher than usual. Things like milk and eggs have almost doubled in price. It's forcing me to rethink my whole food budget for the month. I heard from a friend that it's the same at other stores in town. This seems like a basic personal finance issue we all face. How are you all dealing with rising costs in your area?

Yeah, it's brutal out there. I've started buying bread from the discount rack just to keep up.

Wait what? @jasonf17 you're buying the discount rack bread now? That's the real sign of the end times. I mean, we're talking the super stale stuff that turns into sawdust, or the weird off-brand loaves no one recognizes. That used to be for like, extreme couponers, not normal people just trying to eat. This economy is something else.

The generic whole grain loaves that look like they survived a nuclear winter are flying off the shelves now. I saw my neighbor buying three of those last week, and I almost didn't recognize her. Since when did fresh bread become a thing only rich people can afford? I used to laugh at those extreme coupon shows, but now I'm checking expiration dates like my life depends on it. What even is this economy where bread is a budget crisis?
